The Cowboy Lineup photo was taken on the Hamer Ranch southeast of Durango, CO on August 13, 2023.
Twenty-nine local cowboys and cowgirls from across La Plata County and nearby areas were invited to participate. They were selected to represent multi-generational ranching families and key interests of our western heritage, including members of the Southern Ute Tribe and the Hispanic community. Ages range from 77 to 19 years and one child.
These folks are just a partial representation of individuals and families who founded, built, and contributed to our Western heritage and traditions. There are hundreds of multi-generational locals and new arrivals who could have been selected.
